The Orphanage Crisis:
Most traditional orphanages remove children from their culture, language, and society. Sadly, many become institutions of neglect, leaving children alienated and unable to function normally upon release.
The Pilgrim Movement Approach:
We do things differently. We currently care for hundreds of orphans in Southern Africa, but we do not own a single orphanage.
- Local Caretakers: We place orphans with distant relatives, grandmothers, or trusted neighbors so they grow up in their own villages.
- Complete Support: We supply 100% of the food, education, and medical needs so the family has zero financial burden.
- Self-Sustaining: We built a 40-hectare farm to sustainably produce food for these children.
Exactly what your donation provides:
$40 / Month
Provides complete food and nutrition for one orphan for an entire month.
$150 / Year
Fully sponsors a child’s education for the year, including tuition, textbooks, a school uniform, and shoes.
Any Amount
Helps maintain our 40-hectare agricultural farm and sports facilities that keep our children healthy, fed, and safe.

Why Give Through the Pilgrim Movement?
Led by Sebastian Tirtirau, who has been doing global humanitarian work across 70 countries since 1994, the Pilgrim Movement operates with radical efficiency.
- We have no corporate fleets of vehicles, giant office buildings, or highly-paid secretaries.
- We install and build everything ourselves alongside local workers.
- Your funds bypass the “bureaucracy” and go straight to the villages that need them most.
Not ready to sponsor a child today? That’s okay!
We will send you occasional updates, inspiring stories, and videos of the children in Africa so you can see the impact of our work.
